Ste. Genevieve, Missouri is a city in Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri, and is the county seat. Its population was 4,410 as of the 2010 census. It was founded in 1735 by French Canadian colonists, and was the first European settlement west of the Mississippi.
Ste. Genevieve is located along the west bank of the Mississippi River, and is also located along Interstate 55, U.S. Route 61, and Missouri Route 32. It is about 45 miles south of St. Louis and 195 miles north of Memphis, Tennessee.
The city's economy has a strong manufacturing component, as well as health care and tourism. The beautiful rolling hills are also home to eight picturesque wineries and many bed and breakfasts.
