Benton, Missouri

Benton is a city in Scott County, Missouri, and the county seat. The population was 863 as of the 2010 census.

Benton is a fourth class city platted in 1822, and was named after Thomas Hart Benton.

Benton is governed by a Mayor-Board of Alderman form of government.  The water, sewer, and trash systems are municipally-owned.  Ameren Missouri provides gas and electricity.
