One of the larger
warehouse properties in Sikeston has been sold according to Tom Kelsey,
commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd. in Cape Girardeau who
handled the recent sale.
Ivan Griffin, owner
of Pine Tree Trucking from Advance is the purchaser of the industrial
building located at 835 Wakefield.
The 50,000 square foot building on 4.74 acres was formerly used
as a printing operation and warehouse for Media Press who occupied the
property from 1984 until just a few years ago.
The Lorimont Broker said the seller was Cahokia Properties in
Kirkwood, Missouri.
Kelsey said it was
his understanding that Pine Tree would utilize the facility for customer
warehousing. The company is a complete logistics trucking and
warehousing operation. They
offer a contract program of trucking, product storage, inventory and
shipping services to manufacturing clients.
One of their customers includes Nestle Purina Golden Cat division
in Bloomfield as well as other area companies. The Advance based company
also owns the former C & F Foods building next door in the Sikeston
Industrial Park.
Kelsey said he is also marketing the industrial
building at 822 Wakefield, across
the street, which previously housed Patriot Heritage Homes.
The 112,000 square foot manufacturing facility on 12 acres was
used until recently as a modular home plant.
Patriot combined production at the Sikeston plant with another
manufacturing facility.
Kelsey said he has fielded several calls from
prospective buyers over the last several weeks as a result of his
national marketing. He
disclosed some showings have already been done and future tours are
planned from the various inquires.
The Lorimont website shows a listed price of $1,350,000.
