A Scott City neighborhood shopping center together
with a warehouse and mini-storage operation was recently purchased by a
California investor group, according to Tom Kelsey, commercial broker
with Lorimont Place, Ltd. who handled the recent sale.
The Midtown Shopping Center located at 1302 Main
Street includes Midtown Café, Rip Shed Fitness, a former supermarket
space, 4,950 square foot warehouse building leased by Interstate
Bakeries and a 32 unit mini storage operation.
Kelsey said the entire property includes 20,588 square feet on
nearly two acres of land with frontage on Main and Warner Streets.
The former supermarket space is available for
sub-lease. He said his commercial real estate company has been appointed
to lease the available space that would be suitable for a variety of
retail operations.
Leo
and Becky Casey had owned the property for a number of years after
purchasing the former Baker’s Finer Foods, a long time Scott City
grocery store operation. Kelsey
said Ocean Blue Real Estate, Inc., a real estate investment group from
San Diego, California, purchased the property.
It was his understanding that there would be no change in any of
the present tenants and the new owner has hired a local property
management group to oversee the property.
