A Lorimont real estate “100% leased sign” has
recently gone up at a Scott City shopping center, Scott City Plaza,
located along Main Street in Scott City.
Three new businesses, which accounts for 6,600 square feet of
space recently occupied, has opened there in recent weeks according to
Tom Kelsey, a commercial real estate broker who handles much of the
leasing.
Scott City Medical Clinic, staffed with two
physicians and a nurse practitioner has opened in a 4,000 square foot
space next to the Dollar General Store.
Dr. J. W. Campbell and Dr. Thymios Lambrou are now holding office
hours there. The former
medical center space has been vacant for several years.
It has been completely refurbished and redecorated and the
medical group is accepting new patients.
Soups and Sweet’s is Scott City’s newest
restaurant locating in the former Southeast Missouri Port Authority
space in the plaza. Operators
of the new business are the Moyers family who have converted the space
to a full service sit down eatery specializing in home cooked meals and
desserts.
Kelsey said he had just completed the lease for the
last available space to be occupied by Dewitt Insurance of Scott City
with Barbara Curnell being the authorized agent.
Curnell, formerly associated with Farmers Insurance Group will
handle a full line of various insurance lines, working with several
insurance carriers. An
opening in the next week or so is anticipated.

development include The IGA Foodliner, Dollar General Store, Movie Max
Video, The Riverside Regional Library, H & R. Block and Rhodes 101
