The former Sander’s True Value Hardware Store in
Jackson will be converted to a nationally branded retail tire operation
providing Jackson with several new jobs and projections of nearly a
million dollars in sales revenue annually.
Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd who
handled the sale said Pro-Tire, based out of Dexter has purchased the
15,000 square foot building on 2.89 acres located at 2310 E. Jackson
Blvd. and will open a full service tire and automotive service operation
there.
Steve Lacy, Thompson Investments, Inc. and owner of
Pro-Tire said the new Jackson store will feature Goodyear, Cooper, B. F.
Goodrich and Michelin tire products and will be equipped with state of
the art equipment for auto repair and alignment services.
Lacey operates a similar, although smaller retail tire store in
Dexter and also owns 11 Pennzoil Pro-Lube centers throughout, Illinois,
Tennessee, Arkansas and Missouri including the Jackson Pro-Lube center
next door.
Lacy had been looking for an additional Southeast
Missouri tire outlet and after several marketing studies were completed,
Jackson was selected as a target location in the region.
Kelsey, who worked on the project for several months said the
former Sanders property was selected for it’s high traffic and
visibility location on Highway 61 and the existing building was suitable
for Pro-Tire’s use with little modifications.
Renovations on the former hardware building will
begin immediately with a summer opening planned.
The Sander’s Hardware operation closed several years ago and
the building has been vacant. No
sales price was disclosed, but Kelsey said the property was on the
market for $850,000.
