The Orkin Pest Control regional office that
covers all of Southeast Missouri including Cape Girardeau, Jackson
and Scott City will relocate from Poplar Bluff to Sikeston.
Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd., who
handled the real estate transaction, said the company has purchased
the former Turner Dairy property located at 1020 County Line Road in
Sikeston. The 3,500
square-foot office and warehouse facility located on 2.5 acres
fronting Highway 60 will be completely remodeled by the nationally
known termite and pest control company.
Kelsey said the Orkin regional office covers 19
counties in Southeast Missouri including West Plains to the west,
the Arkansas border to the south and north as far as Ste. Genevieve
County. Occupancy of the new facility was expected sometime in May.
The former Turner Dairy Sikeston warehouse was
closed when the diary chain was acquired by Prairie Farms and
combined into their distribution center in Cape Girardeau, at 3240
Nash Road. Kelsey
also handled the sale of that property approximately a year ago.
Orkin,
a
wholly-owned subsidiary of Rollins, Inc. has more than 400 locations
in North America with over 7,500 employees serving 1.6 residential
and commercial customers. They
provide pest control and termite treatment services.
