NEW DISTRIBUTION WAREHOUSE TO BE BUILT IN SCOTT CITY

Riverside & Industrial Fuels Drive, Scott City, Missouri
A Cape Girardeau based food distributor has
begun construction on a new warehouse and operations office to
be built in the Gene Rhodes Industrial Park in Scott City.
Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd.
who handled the real estate transaction said Southeast Snacks,
Inc. is constructing a 10,500 square-foot distribution facility
at Riverside and Industrial Fuels Drive in Scott City, just off
Nash Road and near Havco Wood Products.
Southeast Snacks, Inc., owned by Bruce
Schmidt distributes food products throughout the Southeast
Missouri region for Interstate Bakeries including Wonder Bread,
Dolly Madison and Hostess Snacks. They also handle other food
lines including Tom’s Snacks and Jay’s Potato Chips.
The new facility will
replace two existing warehouses the company has, one in Scott
City and the other in Cape Girardeau.
Plans are to occupy the new building sometime in February
of next year.
Kelsey said the property tract was formerly
owned by the Rhodes family, who has been the primary industrial
developer in the area East of Interstate 55 for several years.
The industrial park, within the city limits of Scott City
is the also the location for the new multimillion dollar
Nobbe John Deere
facility presently under construction along the East I-55
Outer Road. That sale was also handled by the Lorimont broker.
