Interstate drivers are noticing a flurry of activity around the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport area lately.  Construction of the new Pavestone plant is nearing completion on the East I-55 Outer Road.  The new plant will manufacture landscaping and retaining wall blocks that will ship throughout the Midwest.

This area located directly South of Cape Girardeau and across Interstate I-55 from the Airport has experienced significant growth and development in recent years.  Tom Kelsey, Broker for Lorimont Place, Ltd. who has handled several of the transactions said most of the businesses have been attracted by the high visibility of the location, good access to the interstate and the flexibility of the developer, Seven Thirty, Inc. to sell parcels according to their needs.

Other companies located in this area include Macke Equipment, Falconite, Inc., Mobile Home Supercenter, Delta Express, Sparks Auto and Electrical Contractors, Inc.  The entire surrounding area including Nash Road has been a major Cape Girardeau industrial area for more than 30 years with the Southeast Missouri River Port Authority located directly East.

Kelsey said he recently handled two other sales including the sale of the former Quality Trailer property to an investment buyer who will lease the property to a tenant and another 2.75 acre sale to a Cape business who will make an announcement in the near future.

The Lorimont broker also disclosed the developer still has additional prime sites available and just last year acquired adjacent land to assure future growth of the area.
