IN MOREHOUSE SOLD TO BUCHHEIT TRUCKING CO.
Former Rowe Manufacturing Facility in
Morehouse, Missouri
Scott City based
Buchheit Trucking,
Inc. has expanded their warehousing and logistics operation
with the recent purchase of the former Rowe Manufacturing
property in Morehouse, Missouri.
Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd.
represented the sellers in the sale. The former Rowe property
consisted of various industrial buildings totaling nearly
160,000 square feet located on 39 acres in Morehouse.
Denise Glass of Remax Experts represented the buyers.
The Rowe plant, formerly known as the
Himmelburger-Harrison Lumber Company was used for drying,
storing and manufacturing wood products for their furniture
making operation.
Rowe closed their Missouri facilities in March 2007, both in
Morehouse and Poplar Bluff.
Kelsey said he understood Buchheit had an immediate need
for additional industrial storage space and would utilize the
buildings for existing warehouse and trucking customers.
They provide complete logistic services for various
companies from both within and outside the region.
Buchheit also purchased the former
260,000 square-foot
Supervalu warehouse in Scott City in 2005 and moved their
trucking operation there from Biehle, Missouri.
Kelsey said he also brokered that industrial acquisition
between Supervalu and Buchheit. The company with humble
beginnings in 1934 currently operates nearly 100 trucks out of
the Scott City facility providing various services including
handling and storage, flow through warehousing, inventory
control, vendor management and reporting, labeling and a variety
of other customized shipping services.
These same types of logistic services will be offered at
the new Morehouse location.
The company is also involved in the farm
and home store business with 5 locations in various locations in
Missouri and Illinois.
The 74 year old company currently employs over 400
people. No sales
price was disclosed in the Morehouse sale but the Lorimont
website shows an asking price of $599,90
