PURCELL TIRE TO OPEN JACKSON STORE

5308 U.S. Highway 61 - Jackson, Missouri

With over 60 retail locations nationwide, Purcell Tire & Rubber Company, headquartered in Potosi, Mo., has purchased the former Best Tire & Wheel location near the I-55 interchange at 5308 Highway 61 in Fruitland.  Plans are to re-open the former facility for a retail and truck tire center to serve the Jackson and Southeast Missouri region.

Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd. confirmed the sale of the 27,600 square-foot facility that is located on 5.2 acres of property along Highway 61 near the I-55 interchange.  Kelsey said the facility was originally constructed by Best Tire, an Indiana tire distributor and retailer in 2005 and closed in February.

Purcell will continue to operate its current retail operation in Cape Girardeau at 2155 William Street, however all truck and farm tire sales and services will be moved to the new Jackson location.  The Jackson facility will also accommodate all other types of car care services for its customers. 

With more than 60 locations, Purcell is currently ranked as the third largest independent commercial tire dealership in North America, according to its website. It's also one of the 10 largest independent tire store chains in the United States.

Kelsey did not disclose the sales price for the property, but the Lorimont website shows it was listed at $1.2 million.  Plans are for the new facility to open immediately.
