PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE TO NEW OFFICES IN CAPE GIRARDEAU

Auburn Park Office Building - Cape Girardeau, MO

Progressive Insurance Company will relocate their Southeast Missouri claims and operations offices to lease space in the 70,000 square foot Auburn Park Place building located at William and S. Mount Auburn Road in Cape Girardeau.

The national insurance company founded in 1937 sold $6.1 billion in net written premiums in 1999 and ranks number four as the largest writer of private passenger auto insurance in the United States and the nations largest writer of private passenger auto insurance through independent agents with more than 30,000 agencies selling their insurance products countrywide.

The operations and claims facility will serve the Southeast Missouri area.   Tom Kelsey, broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd. handled the lease transaction and represented Progressive.  Auburn Park Place is owned by DSW Development Corporation (a Drury Company) of Cape Girardeau.  An early January 2001 occupancy date is anticipated.
