NAB AUTOMATION TO
LOCATE TO CAPE AREA BUILDING!

NAB Automation, a Southern Illinois
industrial engineering company has acquired a 9,000
square-foot building located at 126 Airport Road and will be
moving its operations to Cape Girardeau in early August.
Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place,
Ltd., who handled the real estate transaction, said the
office/industrial building was formerly owned by Nestle
Purina and used in their Pet Care division.
The company, owned by Mike
Jordan of Ullin, IL, began in 1993 as a residential and
commercial electrical contractor.
Over the years, the company transitioned from electrical
work to industrial automation and engineering, leading to the
incorporation of the present company.
NAB Automation, Inc. engineers
and installs automation and safety monitoring equipment,
primarily within the grain industry.
Several different products are currently used in seven
states in the facilities of their largest client, ADM (Archer
Daniels Midland Company).
NAB Automation, Inc. made the
decision to move to Cape for a variety of reasons.
Overall, the company’s owners felt that Cape Girardeau
had much more to offer a growing business, such as a better
ability to attract specialized professionals for their
workforce, quality schools, business-friendly tax incentives and
services, and a convenient location.
Kelsey said the site of the newly-purchased building is
ideal for the company, as it is next to Interstate 55, Semo
Riverport and the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.
Given the company’s travel requirements, both by air and
by ground, this location will prove to be most helpful in
facilitating their growth.
NAB Automation, Inc.’s
principals are Mike Jordan and Justin Albright.
The company currently employs seven people and intends to
hire additional personnel in the coming months, given the
additional room for growth provided by the newly-acquired
building. Mitch
Robinson, Cape area MAGNET and John Mehner Cape Girardeau Area
Chamber of Commerce were very instrumental in recruiting and
bringing the company to the area.
