FAMILY DOLLAR STORE OPENING JACKSON LOCATION 

711 E. Jackson Blvd, Jackson, Missouri

Jackson will be the location of a new Family Dollar Store according to Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd who handled the recent transaction.  Kelsey confirmed the sale had been closed and the store location will be on the former site of the El Torero Restaurant property at 711 E. Jackson Boulevard, across the street from Brennecke Chevrolet.  Kelsey said it was his understanding the former restaurant building would be completely razed and site work completed to build the new retail store. 

Family Dollar was founded in 1959 in Charlotte, North Carolina and has grown to over 7,200 stores in 45 states throughout the country.  They currently have 50,000 employees with annual sales of $8.5 billion dollars.  Kelsey said an opening date has not been announced, but historically the company has these types of stores completed within a few months of land acquisition.  No sales price was disclosed, but the Lorimont website lists the property at $325,000.
