ACE BUILDING SYSTEMS TO OCCUPY SIKESTON PLANT

821 Wakefield, Sikeston, MO
A new manufacturing company will open in a
closed industrial building in Sikeston, Missouri.
Ace Building
Systems will open a panelized manufacturing operation in the
former Patriot Homes plant located at 821 Wakefield in Sikeston.
Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd.
who handled the real estate transaction said it was his
understanding that the company would assemble floor, wall and
roof panels for use in residential construction.
Ace is an international company and this will be their
first manufacturing plant in the United States.
The 112,000 square foot manufacturing
facility situated on 12 acres of land in Sikeston’s Industrial
Park was previously used by the Heritage division of
Patriot Homes of Indiana.
The plant was closed last year and consolidated into an
existing Patriot plant in Texas.
Kelsey said the previous company manufactured modular
homes for shipment throughout the Midwest.
The closed Sikeston plant was attractive to Ace because
of the configuration of the building and the existing trained
workforce that had worked for Patriot.
It was expected that more than 50 new jobs would be
created. The first
employees will go to work next week with full production
anticipated by August.
Kelsey said this is one of 9 larger
industrial buildings representing nearly one-million square feet
that his commercial brokerage company has sold within the
last 24 months in the Southeast Missouri region. He is quite
encouraged that these former vacant properties are now being
utilized for manufacturing and distribution purposes.
His latest industrial project includes finding a buyer
for the 150,000 square foot Dana
Plant in Cape Girardeau. He indicated that progress is being
made.
