JACKSON PROPERTY SOLD!

A former long time Jackson furniture
store building and property located at 615 W. Main Street
has been recently sold according to Tom Kelsey, commercial
broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd. The 11,700 square-foot
retail structure housed the former Cracraft -Miller
Furniture Store from 1960 until several years ago, when it
changed ownership and was converted from the sale of
furniture to a decorating showroom and warehouse.
Kelsey, who handled the real estate
transaction, said Tom and Kathy Hecht, from Jackson acquired the
property in the recent sale and will continue to lease to Donna
and Dennis Cook, who operate Main Street Flooring and Decorating
in the building. The
Cook’s acquired the business from its previous owner and operate
a retail flooring and decorating operation along with complete
installation services for their products.
Donna had been involved in the previous
store, Phillips Decorating for 13 years and store manager for
the last 3. They
have 9 employees presently working in the business.
They have business hours Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to
5:00 PM and are open Saturdays 8:00 AM to noon.
Tom & Kathy Hecht, the new property owners
also own Semo Specialties and Sports, a sporting goods and
apparel team supply store in Jackson and Bart Transportation,
offering luxury van service to and from the St. Louis Airport.
No sales price was disclosed, but the
Lorimont website showed a
price of $379,000.
