NASH ROAD WAREHOUSE & PROPERTY SOLD!

A former
liquor distribution warehouse property on Nash Road has been
sold to a Cape Girardeau based trucking and logistics
company according to Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with
Lorimont Place, Ltd. who handled the recent sale.
Kelsey said the former 36,500 square-foot Moon
Distributing building located at 4240 Nash Road was recently
sold to Morningstar Logistics, a company owned by the Meystedt
family who also operates Genesis Trucking Company.
It was his understanding the distribution
facility would be completely refurbished by Morningstar and used
for tenant warehousing by the new owners.
The business provides complete trucking, inventory and
storage services, primarily to the industrial and manufacturing
sector.
The block and brick building, located on 4.67
acres was originally built in the 1970’s as a liquor warehouse
by Moon Distributing and used by them as a regional distribution
facility for many years until they were acquired by Major Brands
several years ago.
Since that time, according to Kelsey the building has been used
by several warehouse tenants.
The property’s close proximity to the
Interstate 55 interchange, the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport
and Southeast Missouri Port Authority will make it attractive
for its intended use by the new buyers.
Kelsey said the building was formerly owned by Six
Thirty, Inc., which is a corporation owned by the Gene Rhodes
family.
The Lorimont broker, who exclusively handles
commercial and industrial real estate said inquiries and
interest for industrial buildings and lease space for the area
are still at decent levels even during the current national
economic slowdown.
He said “this speaks well for the attractiveness and viability
of our area here in Southeast Missouri”.
