My Daddy's Cheesecake, a Cape Girardeau downtown
landmark for several years at 111 N. Main Street was sold recently
according to Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place, Ltd.,
who handled the sale.
Purchasers of the downtown property
were Sean and Christine Webbenmeyer, who were represented by Regina
Rhymer of Coldwell Banker Abernathy Realty of Jackson. The buyer's
plans for the building are uncertain at this time. The 3,000 square foot two story
building situated in the heart of downtown Cape's revitalization
movement was on the market for just a few days according to the Cape
Girardeau commercial broker. My Daddy's Cheesecake
occupied the building from 1996 until recently, re-locating to Cape
Lacroix Road in the northern part of the city. Wes Kinsey, the
owner for the last eight years recently announced that he had sold
various assets of the bakery business and a portion of the ownership to
a local investor, Kevin Stanfield, who would insure the business would
continue in operation and avert closing. Stanfield is also
involved in several Blimpie's Sub franchises in the Cape area.
