Mitch Robinson, director for Cape Girardeau Area Magnet was also involved in the recruitment of the company to come to the area said, “ We are pleased to welcome a new manufacturer that will benefit our entire region.  This partnership that Mid-South Wire has with Rubbermaid helps in our efforts for workforce retention  and the creation of new jobs for both companies”

Tim Porch, Scott City’s Mayor also was elated to have a new industry in town said “new jobs in our community is always a big deal for the city.  We are elated that this family owned company selected our town to locate to”.

Kelsey said the industrial building market has been very active in recent times beginning with the sale of the 260,000 square foot former Supervalu building, also in Scott City to Buchheit’s.  His company also handled the sale of the 75,000 square foot former Columbia Sportswear property at Chaffee and the 103,000 square foot warehouse building in Jackson purchased by ISI Recycling.  Last week a sale closed on the former  50,000 square foot Media Press building in Sikeston that will be utilized for contract warehousing.

Mid-South Wire is already moving ahead with modifications on the building.  They announced they expect to start with 25 new jobs and increase that to 50 within two years.
