Jackson’s commercial expansion has included a new
development along Highway 61 north between Jackson and Interstate 55
known as the 2370 N. High Street Center, developed by Oak Enterprises,
which is owned by the Farris Nabors family.
Tom Kelsey, commercial broker with Lorimont Place,
Ltd. has done the leasing for the development, which is now 100%,
occupied. Tenants include Atmos
Energy (formerly United Cities Gas), Hebo USA,
Old Bavarian Sausage, The Embroidery
Barn, Ferrell Gas Company and Jenny’s
Styles. Average lease size for each tenant is approximately 2,500
square feet. Located in an
adjacent separate building is Jackson Machine Company.
Kelsey said the Jackson center was leased up
relatively quickly once the exterior of the 15,000 square foot facility
was completed. He felt that
this is an indication that there is a strong market in Jackson for
retail, office and service oriented businesses.
Most of the tenant’s wanted to locate specifically in the
Jackson area with an easily accessible, high traffic and visibility
location and this facility met that criteria.
Oak Enterprises owns several acres of adjoining
property and plans are to start immediately on another multi-tenanted
building in the 13,000 to 15,000 square foot range to be located just
west of the existing building.
Kelsey said his real estate company would also
handle the leasing on this new structure.
Lease spaces, with sizes starting at 2,250 square feet will be
finished according to the tenant’s specific needs and specifications. He is already working with several prospects for locating
their businesses there.
