Cape is home to a new heating and air conditioning
distributor at 2355 Rusmar located just off South Kingshighway. Goodman
Distribution, Inc. has opened in the showroom and warehouse facility
formerly occupied by Cape Shoe Company, who ceased operations in the
building last year.
Tom Kelsey, commercial broker who handled the sale
of the 26,000 square foot industrial building said the building was sold
back in the fall to Columbia, Missouri investor Stephen Smith, who
purchased the former shoe manufacturing facility.
Smith remodeled the building to accommodate Goodman’s need for
a new Southeast Missouri distribution branch.
There is approximately 18,000 square foot of warehouse area with
the rest in offices and showroom.
Goodman Distribution has nearly 700 locations
nationwide including 132 company operated distribution centers and
independent distributors throughout the country.
The parent company, Goodman
Global, the parent company manufacturers and sells its products
under the Goodman, Amana and Quietflex brands through their distribution
network.
In addition to air conditioners, heat pumps, gas
furnaces, packaged units, air handlers, evaporator coils and flexible
duct, the company also handles a complete line of heating and air
conditioning accessories. Most
of their products have residential and light commercial applications and
are sold through independent heating and air conditioning dealers and
contractors. Their newest
Cape branch will cover the Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois
region.
